My passion for reptiles and herpetology began in my childhood growing up in the Highlands of Scotland — catching tadpoles in streams, watching frogs leap through wet grass, and discovering newts, slow worms (a legless lizard), and the elusive adder.

That early connection to nature stayed with me, evolving into a lifelong dedication to the study and care of reptiles. The name Neuro Nerd Exotic Reptiles reflects my dual passion: while I work professionally as a clinical counsellor and psychologist, I have also studied neuroscience extensively.

This unique blend of interests has led me to explore how reptiles — especially young snakes and bearded dragons — can support therapeutic work with neurodivergent children, adolescents, and adults.
